Draft Watch: 49ers hosting Kentucky LB Trevin Wallace
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that the San Francisco 49ers are hosting former Kentucky linebacker Trevin Wallace on a pre-draft visit today and tomorrow.

Wallace registered 80 tackles, including 8.5 for a loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble through 12 game appearances as a senior in 2023, per Sports Reference. Throughout his collegiate career, he recorded 166 tackles, including 18 for a loss, 10 sacks, a pass defensed, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles over three seasons.

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein notes that the linebacker has explosive physical traits but has issues with consistency, adding, "Wallace looks the part and can run and hit when he's locked in. However, he struggles to diagnose plays and execute his responsibilities at a standard NFL level. Teams will like the traits and his potential to play special teams, but he will need to prove he can play with better instincts and recognition to make it in the pros."

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6' 1 1/8" and 237-pound Wallace posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.51 seconds, a vertical jump of 37.5 inches, and a broad jump of 10 feet, 7 inches.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic has a third-round draft grade on Wallace and is the No. 86 overall player on his big board.
